SMBA Coaching!

  Coach Sean is the head JV coach at Marymount high school and assistant varsity coach. Prior to that, he was a trainer in the basketball program at Santa Monica College.  

"Confidence is key to being an elite player, I'm here to help grow these kids to be the best versions on them selves through life basketball. " 

Coach Lena is a current collegiate player at Emerson College! A Point Guard, she is tough as she is kind. She coaches our summer camps and skills clinics!

Currently Yuuki is playing at Oberlin college and  the leader in Assist Turnover Ratio in Division lll! Yuuki is an accomplished point guard with millions of views on social media and was a member of the Crossroads High School CIF 2018 State Champions! A long time member rof the SMBA coaching staff he is electric at camp! 

Coach Roy is the head JV coach at Santa Monica High School! Coach Roy coaches our 14U and 16U Club teams as well as our skill clinics each week and our camps!

One of SMBA's most popular coaches! Coach Brendan's basketball career has been a whose who of talent! Nike EYBL, Under Armour, Germany's 16U Olympic Training team and Adidas! A member of the Crossroads high school CIF state champions, he now plays with Division 1 SouthEast Missouri University!

 A youth basketball coach, he has been instrumental in the westside youth basketball scene for over a decade! He coaches and trains his standout player daughter in area basketball teams and with women's AAU basketball! He has coach with SMBA since the beginning and has a ton of player improvements under his watch!

Coach Tyler is our guy! He has been playing basketball since he was four years old.  A highly touted varsity player at Culver City high school, this guard's speed and dribbling electrified everyone when he stepped on the court!  Currently playing at Santa Monica College,  he has  developed life lessons such as leadership and team work that he brings to each and every SMBA program! While continuing his playing career at Santa Monica Collège, he has moved on to a four year university playing basketball!  He has become a fantastic coach at SMBA!

A current collegiate player, Coach Elijah was a standout player at Santa Monica College and is now playing at a four year!

His enthusiam and love of the game translate into every camp he coaches and with our club teams!

  In addition to Michael Jordan, Coach Slappy has provided skills training and advice to a host of professional athletes at some point in their careers and helped hundreds of high school male and female athletes acquire collegiate scholarships!

 
Coach Jacob is a former high school varsity player from Portland who  played for I5U-elite and Seattle Prep and went on to play at Multnomah University in Portland. A veteran travel ball coach, he led the Rose City Blue Devils 16U  to a championship season! He now coaches at our Saturdau Night Hoops Clinics and our Weekend AM clinics and our SMBA 12U  teams!

Coach  Desmond went to basketball powerhouse View Park
Prep High School, where the former varsity player started since 9th grade. He is proud of going toe to toe and winning AAU tournaments against current NBA player, "Bol Bol" (currently plays
for the "Phoenix Suns.")  He has also coached at the Challengers Boys and Girls Club!  A former high school MVP for his team,  he now coaches  our SMBA  Saturday Night Hoops and our SMBA clinics! 

 Coach Kayla is a force! A four year varsity starter she took her stellar playing to Lehigh University where she Was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie team after leading the Mountain Hawks in made three-pointers (40) and averaging 5.4 points per game and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll! 

 Big Jay! This 6'6 small forward has been a force on the court and with SMBA! He is a leader at SMBA and one of our best trainers.  He played basketball  powerhouse high school Crossroads and was a member of the 2018 CIF state Champions! He continued his playing career at East LA College's and was highlighted in the "Last Chance U" television show on Netflix,  

Coach Tarron T.J Wiley is a full-time  trainer for  player development and skill training.  He trains a ton of players at the SMBA academy and elevates their game! Has been in the gym playing the game of basketball since he was three years old! A varsity starter at Rolling Hills prep, he furthered his talents  at Grace University in Omaha Nebraska. 

One of the most popular coaches at SMBA! Coach Ben had an outstanding high school career playing AAU basketball for Nike' s Cal Supreme and was instrumental in leading basketball powerhouse Crossroads school to a 2018 CIF state championship!
